

A wonderful wife, mother and Gramen, she is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Robert B. (Bob) Pheil; sons, Robert B. (Lisa) Pheil II and Joe (Carol) Pheil; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Pheil, Tomi (Adam) Miranda, Hillary (Stefan) Cadra and Robert B. (Tara) Pheil III; great-grandchildren, Joshua Pheil, Madeline Pheil, Mackenzie Pheil, Brendan Stephens, Ethan Miranda, Camille Cadra, Raia Pheil and Kaila Pheil. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Minnie Purves, and brother, Orville.
Tommie and Bob met in Wichita Falls, Texas. After a brief courtship, rooted in love at first sight, they began their lifelong journey together.
Tommie earned her master's degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and was an educator for many years. She enjoyed attending church surrounded by her many friends at The Fellowship of San Antonio and was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.
Tommie was full of spunk and thrived on her independence, which allowed her to support and care for her family for decades.
The family wishes to thank Vanessa, Jennifer and the entire caring and compassionate staff at Optum Hospice Care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21st from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Porter Loring North Chapel, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.
Tommie will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 22nd.
