
Minnie Antoinette Braum Strunk went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2007, during Spring, her favorite time of the year. Minnie was born on July 28, 1912 in Japonica Hunt TX, on the Seagrest Ranch in Kerr County.
Her family moved to San Antonio when she was only three weeks old ~ attended school in San Antonio and after graduating from Main High School, she received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary teaching from Incarnate Word College and Masters Degree from Trinity University. She devoted her life to teaching and said she had lots of children. Though none were by birthright, she still felt and cared for each and everyone as her own. She taught over 40 years, with the last 32 years at Rogers Elementary in San Antonio.
She was Member and Past President of Epsilon Chapter of ADK Sorority, Honorary Life Member of the PTA, International Honorary Teachers Sorority; Area, State and National Retired Teacher Association, devout member of Coker United Methodist Church and spent countless hours in volunteer work. She was an avid bridge player and quite a perfectionist.
Minnie was married to George S. Strunk and in 1982, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Ada Lee Braum and her only sibling, Susie Braum Guy Morris.
She is survived by her nephews and families: Sam and Carmen Strunk of San Antonio; Gary and Sissy Strunk of Ingram; great nephews: Ronald and wife, Cynthia Strunk of Adkins; and Brett Strunk of Ingram; her godchild, Kenneth Garret of Houston; a host of friends, especially her bridge groups and Coker Church members.
Minnie was the rock of the Strunk Family, but most of all, the most special Aunt anyone could ever have. A special thank you to Harbor Courts at Kingsley Place at Oak Well Farms for all the love, care and support for her and the family over the last four years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
