'My aunt Andreita Ramirez of Lyford was one of Mona's dearest and closest friends when Mona was a young girl. She loved Mona dearly as did the rest of my relatives who knew her. May God Bless her and hopefully she found my aunt when she got to heaven. I just want the family to know that we are deeply sorry for their loss. 'Your family has my deepest sympathy on the loss of a fine woman/person. Mrs Hopkins was my Shorthand Teacher at Luther Burbank High School back in 1970. I can still remember her smile everytime she would start a class. I remember also that she gave me a second chance on my grades since I was not the studiest person in class she actually told me to come by her house after the school year to take another test,which of course I barely passed, but 33 years later I can still see her face when she told me to take the book home again and to come back and take a retest, which of course I never did, but she was so kind that she passed me anyway with a D. I will never forget what she did for me. Oh and by the way I never ever needed to use shorthand, thank god. Please I am so sorry to read about her death in the newspaper. Again with my deepest sympathy, I will keep you and your family in my prayers

'My sincere condolence to all the family of Dr. Hopkins. I had the pleasure to work with her when she was superintendent here in Hebbronville. I got to know her and her mother very well when she lived here. I work at the business office, so we had a close working and personal relationship. I would always make her camomile tea at work. I have so many good memories of Dr. Hopkins and she was always very good to me. I remember she would always get locked out of her mobile home and she would call my house so my son would crawl in through a window to open the door. she will be greatly missed and I only regret that I did not get to see again after she left Hebbronville. I hope she knew how I felf about her. Stay strong and God bless you all.'
