

We will deeply miss our precious daughter who enriched and made our lives better with her presence. GOD only takes the BEST, it is with deepest sorrow we her parents announce the death of our precious daughter Monica Yvette Garcia. Monica our precious daughter passed away June 8,2022, San Antonio, Texas, Monica Yvette Garcia was born October 5,1982 and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Monica graduated from Providence Catholic School in 2000 with honors and attendance Texas A&M at College Station for one year and finished her degree at St Mary’s University in San Antonio, Tx. At St. Mary’s University she joined Kappa Delta Chi Sorority KAX, Monica was President, KAX is a sorority to achieve professional development and dedicate community service to their local communities. After graduation Monica was hired at YMCA where she worked for 19 years working different programs and achieving the position of Director of Youth and Family. Monica loved welcoming the members, enjoyed training, supervising and teaching her staff. Monica also planned extra curriculum for the Youth, such as Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and other events for the youth. She also enjoyed reading books, listening to all types of music, watching movies, trying new foods and loved and enjoyed her fur babies.
Monica is survived by her parents Richard and Antoinette Garcia, her dearest friend Alfred Hernandez, and closest friend Samantha Torres, and Jeremy Benson, her uncle Albert Cruz wife Diane cousins Jacqueline, Karen and Albert, her aunt Rachel Maldonado husband Carlos cousins Samantha, Steven, Stacy, her uncle Alex Cruz wife Belinda cousins Jessica, Alyssa, Alex, Jenevieve , her uncle Joe Garcia wife Gloria cousin Nicholas, aunt Henrietta, her aunt Mary Helen Cerna husband Augustin, cousins Jacob and Cassandra, her uncle Andrew Garcia wife Gloria cousins Erica, and Zeke, her aunt Rosalinda Villanueva husband Camilo cousins C.J., Rene and Terri, her uncle Rey Garcia wife Belinda cousins Elizabeth and Jacqueline. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera road San Antonio, Texas 78238. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church. 804 Ruiz Street, 78207. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery # 2
