

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Monica Lynn McDonald, who entered eternal rest on February 2, 2025, at the age of 49. She was born on July 2, 1975, in San Jose, California, and grew up in Brackettville, Texas, where she built lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
A proud graduate of Brackettville High School, Class of 1993, Monica pursed a fulfilling career as a Health Administrator, a profession she embraced with dedication and care. She had a creative spirit and found joy in arts and crafts, expressing her love through her handmade creations. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found peace and community in worship at Community Bible Church.
Monica lived in San Antonio, Texas, for the past 18 years, and in the last year and a half, she found great joy in spending her daily life with her mother, Doris, sharing countless cherished moments together through various activities.
She was a proud and loving mother to her son, Brandon McDonald and his wife Jasmine Rodriguez McDonald, her daughter, Tristyn McDonald. Joshua McDonald, and Nehemiah McDonald. Monica’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to her precious grandchildren, Emma McDonald, Nova Galvan, Nalani McDonald-Galvan and a very proud Aunt to countless nephews and nieces who brought immense love and happiness into her life.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She is survived by her loving mother, Doris Garza; her grandmother, Josephine Coronado-Gonzalez, Casimiro Garza and his wife Kathy Garza, Elsie Montalvo and her husband Richard Montalvo, Christopher Garza and his wife Romelia Garza, and John Garza and husband Arnold Carrillo.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joe E. and Mary G. Sandavol; paternal grandparents, Casimiro and Gregoria Garza Sr.; and her father, Casimiro Garza Jr., whose love and guidance shaped the compassionate and strong woman she became.
Monica’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Monica’s life will be held on February 20, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary West located at 1710 W Loop 1604 N, San Antonio, Texas, 78251.
