Monique Marie Madeleine Price (nee Fringant) came to the end of one journey and began another on Sunday May 19th, 2013, surrounded in love and light, in the presence of her family, and in the comfort of her own home. Born in Malzeville, France in 1930, and having survived the perils of World War II from the ages of 9 through 15, she went on to be a loving housewife, a mother, a doting grand-mother, and a great friend, as well as a business entrepreneur, and proprietor of Chateaux Bernard in Tantonville, France. Mrs. Price was a pioneering woman of great fortitude of spirit, grace, elegance, compassion, love, strength and tenacity in the face of adversity and obstacles, and she harbored an indescribable joie de vivre. She loved life. She lived life, fervently and unabashedly relinquishing herself to every moment. Those whom she encountered remarked upon her warm, loving, and, at times, mischievous smile, her laughter, and her loving kindness. Indeed, she was a rare kind. Embodying a certain je ne sais quoi, Mrs. Price was surrounded by a great light and energy which emanated from her from the moment she entered a room. Undoubtedly, she wrote upon the slate of all those with whom she shared time and space. Above all, she was loved and respected. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert C. Price (the great love of her life), her father Camille Fringant, her mother Andree Bottichio (a member of the French Resistance during WWII who helped Jews escape to Switzerland), her maternal aunts and uncles, and her daughter Pearl Marie Bowman. She is survived by: her children John Mitchell, Barbara Williams-Green, and Sam Price; her grand-children Olivier Mitchell, Barbara Mitchell Portela, Dr. Petra Bowman, Sophia Williams, Joanne Mitchell, and Trinity Price; and her great-grand-children Eva Portela and Marco Mitchell; and her dutiful canine companion, Lillie Bowman.
