

Morris Harry Barasch Morry passed away on September 6, 2007 in San Antonio, TX. Morry was born in San Antonio on July 14, 1917, the eldest child of Jenny and Joe Barasch and elder brother to David and Ann, all of whom preceded him in death.
He served in World War II in the Philippines and New Guinea in the Army infantry, which he entered as a Private and came out a Captain. On February 24, 1946, shortly after returning from war, Morry wed Shirley Bay, to whom he has been married for over 61 years. They had three daughters and the family remained in San Antonio, where he worked in business and real estate.
Morry will be missed and remembered not only by his family, but by the countless members of his community whose lives he touched. He served as an AZA Adviser for B'nai Brith Youth Organization for over 25 years. He was an active, life-long member of Agudas Achim Synagogue, where he regularly attended both morning and evening prayer services.
He also served for many years as organizer and active participant in the San Antonio Realtors' chapter of Toastmasters.
Morry was a loving and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered for his warmth, humor, intelligence, and kind heart. He will be missed dearly.
Morry is survived by his wife Shirley Barasch of San Antonio, TX; daughter Joan Barasch of San Antonio, TX; daughter and son-in-law Anita and Cliff Corenblith of Dallas, TX; and daughter and son-in-law Constance and Richard Sullivan of Palos Verdes Estates, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Amy and Emily Corenblith; Julia and Jonathan Youssefnia; and Brendan and Michael Sullivan, as well as his niece and nephew Marcia Rosenblum and Allan Winston, and his first cousin and lifelong friend, Hyman Marcus.
