

Mrs. Magnon was born April 24, 1923, in Southsea, England, to the late Maude and Matthew Haslett.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Louis A. Magnon; her son, 1st Lieutenant Myron W. Magnon, KIA/Vietnam in 1968; and her sister, Evelyn Payne and her husband, Reggie Payne.
Mrs. Magnon is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tony Magnon wife Jackie, Ryan Magnon wife Aimee, Taylor, Austin and Garrett Magnon, Cpl. Craig Magnon, Doctor Robert Magnon wife Doctor Karen, Grant Magnon and Jason Magnon, Deborah Magnon Huling husband Carl, Amanda Aucoin, Kyle Huling and Gabriela Huling, SSG Gregory Magnon wife Rhonda and Aimee and Teri Sponagel. Mrs. Magnon is also survived by her brother Charlie Haslett wife Marion and her late husband's siblings, Livia Martinez husband Eloy, Lucha Rojas, Lupita Barnes husband Jim, and sister in law, Ernestine Magnon wife of the late George and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Magnon spent her childhood in Southsea, England where her father was a member of the Royal Navy. She then moved to London as a teenager. While in London during World War II, Mrs. Magnon joined the Women's Corps and worked on Bakers Street. Many a day and night, she worked putting out the flames from the bombs dropped on London during the War.
In 1944 she married First Sergeant Louis A. Magnon from San Antonio, Texas. After the war she moved to San Antonio with her husband and met the loving Magnon family. After thirty one years as an Army wife, CPT and Mrs. Magnon retired in San Antonio.
Mrs. Magnon will be remembered for her strong sense of family first.
