She married the love of her life, George Julian Gambs on June 6, 1941.
Mrs. Gambs was devoted to her family, her friends, her church and her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Alice Smith Godwin and T.G.S. Godwin; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include: her daughters, Alice Junelle Gambs, Gay Ellen Kent, Katherine Warmack and her two grandchildren, Aleisa Georgann Warmack and Nicholas Andrew Warmack.
Nell will be remembered for her flowers, her food and most of all, for her loving spirit, even in the face of adversities, which she met with grace and her wonderful sense of humor the last years of her life. What a blessing she was and will always be.
