Nancy Louise Hight passed away on February 6th, 2019. Nancy was a sister, a loving wife, mother of three, and a grandmother to five. She cherished these roles and times in her life but none more than being Memaw to her grandchildren. She could light up a small town with her smile when her grandbabies came to see her. Sam, Chloé, Dalton, Court and Cheyanne were, without a doubt, her pride and joy.
Memaw was a free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum. She didn’t believe in all the fuss of some things, especially about her. She would stand up and dance to the music even when nobody else did. She could cut up with the kids, like a kid, even when others wouldn’t. She could also put someone in their place if she needed to. She didn’t back down from anyone or anything. She was Memaw and to heck with the rest of the world who didn’t get it.
She always had time to spend with you, and she made the time she spent with you special in her own way. She was easy to talk to, listened, and was always supportive. She always gave guidance in a way that you could understand and helped you decide for yourself how best to go forward.
For those of us blessed to know and love her, she made us all better. She will always be with us.
