

She was predeceased by her parents, Lt. Col. Robert Brunzell and Alice Nichols Brunzell of San Antonio, and her first husband, Carl Olaf Carlson of Ellicott City, Maryland.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Donald H. Schmoldt of Spring Branch, her daughter; Carroll Mann of Concord, NH, step-daughter Linda Schmoldt of Cleveland, OH and two grandchildren, Alexandra & Henry Hochberg of Concord, NH.
Nancy grew up in a distinguished, military family and lived in various states around the country. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and subsequently taught Dental Assisting at a Maryland community college. Nancy took time off from her career to raise her daughter.
Since Don & Nancy's retirement, she was an active member of the Retired Officers' Wives & Widows Club at Ft. Sam Houston. She & Don were also members of the Randolph Air Force Base Officers Club and the Alamo Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.
After Don & Nancy relocated to San Antonio, Nancy became a member of the choir at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and a member of the Canyon Lake Women's Golf Club. Nancy had a great love and appreciation for music and was a season ticket-holder to the San Antonio Symphony with Don. They also enjoyed frequent trips around the world in their retirement.
