Nancy Baker Wood

She was a woman of many talents, who had a passion for the arts, especially painting, and loved sharing that passion with others. Nancy was a big contributor to the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, where she enjoyed spending her time admiring the many exhibitions. Nancy also spent time as a drug and alcohol counselor and was instrumental in helping those cope with adversity in their life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Ledsinger; late husband, James E. Wood; and son, Robert Strauss.

Nancy is survived by her son, Michael Strauss (Gianna); grandchildren, Peyton, Bryn, and Avery; sisters, Judith Marshall and Suzie Parrish; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a special person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. To honor Nancy’s memory, her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the McNay Art Museum or Christ Church.
