Natha Lee Smetzer

Natha Lee Smetzer, loving wife, mother, sister and Nanny, was born in Live Oak County, TX on April 19, 1931 to August & Lena (Heinen) Wieding and entered eternal life on January 21, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. She was active in the Lutheran Church for 45 years, working in Vacation Bible School and as a Sunday school teacher. Natha also worked as a volunteer at the Christian Cupboard in Seguin, TX for 21 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Milton Wieding. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Gerald D. Smetzer; sons, James Smetzer and wife, Traci, John Smetzer and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Mackenzie Rose, Matthew Ryan, Joshua Aaron and Colby Lyn Smetzer; sisters, Gladys Spielman, Ruth Haack and husband, Howard; brother, Stanley Wieding and wife, Nancy. A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Mt. Calvary 78209. Interment will be private. For those who wish, donations may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
