Naurene Graham Apfel

Naurene Graham Apfel, age 74, of San Antonio, lost her battle with her recently diagnosed lung cancer on April 2, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou and Jack; her youngest brother, Dale; and recently her husband, Maury. She and her husband would have been married for 55 years this month. She graduated from Medina High School in Medina, Tx and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. She lived her life in service to others. Mrs. Apfel was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and an active advocate for senior citizens up until a chronic and debilitating disease limited her physical activities. Survivors: son, Maury "Buddy" Apfel and wife Sue, San Antonio, TX; daughter, Maura Free and husband Roy of Seabrook; granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Free and Naurene Kay Free, all of Seabrook, TX; brothers, Lee W. Graham and wife Marie, Mansfield, TX, Perry Ray Graham and wife Lou, Tuleta, TX, Glen Graham and wife Lillie, Pipe Creek, TX; half-brother, Mark Graham, Kingwood, TX; half-sisters, Nancy Sperry and husband Larry, and Susan Graham, all of Corpus Christi, TX, Bonnie Skidmore, Devine, TX; step-brother, Rob Haley, San Antonio, TX; step-mother, Grace Graham, Corpus Christi, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
