On the early morning of February 8, 2026, the heavens opened their gates to welcome a remarkable soul, Nicholas Brian Gracia. His path on earth began on October 26, 1971, as the first child of Mario (deceased) and Rosa Nelda Gracia. After courageously battling cancer, Nick passed away surrounded by his loved ones in San Antonio, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of faith, wisdom, and countless cherished moments.
Nick met the love of his life in the summer of 1989, Dalinda "Dolly" De Los Santos. They went from high school sweethearts to 29 loving years of marriage. He was a beloved husband and devoted father to his three beautiful children, Nicholas Brian, Vincent Joseph, and Angelina Rose. Nick was an amazing father who loved his kids unconditionally. They motivated every part of his life, and everything he did was for them.
As a lifelong academic, Nick had a passion for science and earned a Bachelor's and Master's in Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His intelligence and dedication to science were evident as he worked as a published research scientist. He later went to work at the UT Health Science Center as a pharmacology research scientist. 2 years later, his ambitious nature and wish to provide a better life for his family led him to the prestigious University of Texas at Austin, where he received his Doctorate in Pharmacy. Nick went on to serve his community as a Walgreens and HEB Pharmacist.
His love for his Alma Mater never faltered as he was a lifelong UT football fan. In his final moments, he rested in his Longhorn blanket.
However, his true passion was his faith. Nick was an incredibly devoted Catholic who loved serving at his church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. He embodied the love of Christ through his words and actions. Serving as a sacristan, he prepared the altar for the celebration of the Eucharist. He loved his church community, where he made countless lifelong friends. He gave back by serving on the ACTS team who helped him grow closer to his own faith.
In his final years, he served the American Cancer Society as a presenter, where he advocated for awareness, hope, and support to those facing the trials of illness. He then displayed a final act of kindness by participating in a chemo trial that was published during his treatment. Although the trial could not save him, the data collected from Nick will go on to aid future researchers and participants.
In the end, nothing meant more to Nick than his family, whom he dedicated his entire life to. Nick is survived by his wife, Dalinda Gracia, and his children, Nicholas Brian Gracia, Vincent Joseph Gracia, and Angelina Rose Gracia. He is also survived by his Mother, Rosa Nelda Gracia, and his siblings Leticia Nelda (Michael) Salinas and Noel Mario Gracia.
A visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, on Monday, February 16, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A rosary will follow beginning at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, on Tuesday, February 17, at 11:00 a.m., with a committal to follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian, at 12:30 p.m.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made toward Nicholas' children’s graduation fund.
