Nicholas Ryan Hansard

Nicholas was a devoted and loving father to his twin boys, Ethan Oscar Hansard and Sebastian Ryan Hansard, age 10, whom he deeply adored. His sons were a tremendous source of love and pride in his life. He shared his love for them with their mother, Pamela Legaspi Hansard, and his greatest hope was always to see his boys grow and be happy. Nicholas enjoyed coaching their soccer teams and thrived on supporting the boys' love for fishing, building, and exploring.

Nicholas attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, where he was a member of the marching band and proudly played the trumpet. At the age of 30, Nicholas made the brave decision to join the United States Marine Corps. He was proud to hold the distinction of being the oldest recruit out of San Antonio, Texas. From 2007 to 2011, Nicholas served as a member of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, carrying with him the strength, commitment, and pride of a United States Marine.

Nicholas will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Ethan and Sebastian; their mother, Pamela Legaspi Hansard; his parents, Tony and Paula Cloud; his sister, Lindsay and her husband, Brian Dusek, their children, Paisley, Dax and Beckett; his step-brother, Cole and his wife, Courtney Cloud and their children, Catie, Carrie Eva and Chloe; step-sister, Adrienne and her husband, Whitney Jordan and their children, Wyatt, Jackson and Boone; and step-sister, Christine and her husband, Matt Sawtelle and their children, Scarlett, Sage and Scout. He is also survived by his father, George Hansard and his wife, Stacy, and their children, Taylor and Trey Hansard; as well as his extended family, friends, fellow Marines, and all those whose lives he touched.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Carroll and Christine Tune and George and Melba Hansard, both of Lamesa, Texas.

Nicholas will be remembered for the love he had for his sons, his service to his country, the memories he created, and the people who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

May Nicholas rest peacefully, knowing that he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cole Cloud, Brian Dusek, Matt Sawtelle, Whitney Jordan, Jeff Hansard, Mark Hansard, Sam Hansard, John Sasson and David Munroe.

Services for Nicholas Ryan Hansard will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78209. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:15 a.m. and burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. Those wishing to attend the burial are kindly asked to join the funeral procession from Sunset Funeral Home to the cemetery.

Following the burial, we welcome family and friends to join us at Tony and Paula’s home, 3526 Barrington Street, San Antonio, Texas 78217 for a time of fellowship, remembrance and togetherness. We would be grateful to have you with us as we share memories and celebrate Nick’s life.
