Nieves met and fell in love with Jose Cruz Reyna. They married in 1960 and had eight children. Unfortunately, she was widowed at a young age and with her strong will and faith in the Lord she raised her children.
Nieves was an independent and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was always open with a welcome for everyone. Everyone loved her cooking, from tamales, chicken mole, to cakes and empanadas. She was a master seamstress who had no creative limits. Nieves also did missionary work in Mexico and traveled to The Holy Land, Israel. Nieves had a genuine ability to provide and place others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Cruz Reyna; parents; daughter Connie Reyna; son, Richard Reyna; two grandsons, Gabriel Villanueva and Andrew Reyna; brothers, Pablo H. Pea, Francisco G. Pea and Maurilio H. Pea, Jr. and sister, Alicia H. Pea. Nieves is survived by her children, Joseph Reyna, Hector Reyna and wife, Sandy, Diana Reyna, Rachel Reyna, Ruben Reyna and Deborah Reyna; sister, Alicia P. Ledezma and husband, Abel and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
