In 1960, she married her seventh-grade sweetheart, Johnny Arreaga. Their 35-year marriage was filled with adventure, lasting friendships, and countless rounds of golf. Together, they raised daughters Liz and Becky while living in Waco, Gatesville, and San Antonio.
Ninfa built a career rooted in service and care for others. She held administrative roles at BAMC, Ft. Sam Houston, and the VA Hospital before becoming the beloved office administrator at Thornton Elementary in NISD, where her warmth, wit, and deep love for children left a lasting impact.
Ten years after Johnny’s passing, she reconnected with childhood friend Rubin Ruiz. Their 19-year relationship was rich in love, laughter, travel, and community service.
She is survived by daughters Liz, Becky, and Lucy Harrison; sisters Lydia, Yolanda, and Gloria; and many dear family and friends.
