Noelia Escobar Stuart

Noelia “Nelly” Escobar Stuart was called by the Lord on Wednesday April 23, 2014. She was born on October 10, 1945 to Brigido and Gertrudis Escobar in Rio Grande City, TX. In 1969, she moved to San Antonio, TX and for the last 10 years she resided in Dallas, TX with her husband. Before moving to Dallas, she was very active as a volunteer with the San Juan Capistrano parish where she participated in many fundraisers and events. She was talented and creative and will be remembered for coordinating and decorating the many festivities and celebrations for family and friends. She had a keen eye for interior design and was known amongst the family as the women who could “design on a dime”. Her love of music and dancing, enjoying the company of others and her generosity and kindness to family and friends will be remembered by many. She loved life and will be lovingly remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Brigido and Gertrudis Escobar; sisters: Maria Olivia Rodriguez, Otila E. Garcia, Eusebia Escobar and Francisca Escobar. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Stuart; daughter: Yvette (Marc) Yamazi; son: Carlos (Connie) Uballe; step-children: Ernest (Lisa) Uballe, Velma (Ralph) Valdez and Jerry (Richard) Stuart II; grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Aaron and Mark Anthony; brothers: Rogelio (Alicia) Escobar and Noe (Anita) Escobar; sisters: Barbarita (Octavio) Cruz and Ernestina (Guadalupe) Laurel; numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
