

Norbert Gus Schneider, Jr. passed away peacefully December 9, 2025. Norbert was born on September 5, 1939 in New Braunfels, Texas to Elsie and Norbert Schneider Senior. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and oldest brother.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 44 years, Myrna, daughters Brenda Frazier (Mark), Karen Brady (Brian) Damon and Angie McFadin and his grandchildren, Austin, Andy, Taylor(Yvette), and Reed Frazier, Tyler Brady(Taylor), Allie McNairy(Jack), Abbey Wilson(Palmer),Brianne Perez(Buddy), Brett Bockholt(Lauren) and Forrest McFadin. He is also survived by 8 adoring great grandchildren who loved calling him Grandpa "Schneiderman”, Townsend and Clara Brady, JJ and Henry McNairy, Lily and Charlotte Wilson, Kira and Janee Frazier, Freddy, Daisy, Violet and Gideon Perez, Adeline & Bentley Bockholt. He is also survived by his two sisters, Carolyn Steinmetz and husband Steve, Doris Muenchow.
Growing up, Norbert enjoyed hunting with his father, who was also his best friend. Both loved being at their Helotes family farm. In Norbert's early twenties, he served four years in the National Guard. Afterwards, he had a stellar 42 year career with the City of San Antonio Public Works Department as a supervisor.
Once retired, he enjoyed raising cattle or doing projects driving his tractor at the farm. Norbert was often consulted by friends and family for his knowledge of current events, politics, sports(especially college football, the NFL, Nascar & AJ Foyt) and could tell you on any given day the current market price for cattle.
Services are on December 17, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM at Maus 1 and the service at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
