Norma J Evans

Norma J. Evans, age 82, passed away March 5, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. She was a long-time member of the West Ave. Church of Christ and more recently of the Grissom Road Church of Christ. She was born October 12, 1929 in Stockdale, TX. and graduated from Stockdale High School on May 30, 1947. She married Nelson Warren Evans on August 3, 1951. Mrs. Evans served as a nurse at Lackland AFB during the Korean conflict. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Elgia Bennett, husband, Nelson W. Evans; brother, Robert Leroy Bennett, sister, Lola Mae Lange and brother Houston W. Mix. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn J. Watson and husband Russell; son, John N. Evans and wife Robin; brother, Norman Edward Bennett and wife Willis of Stockdale; sister, Helen May Bennett Hicks of San Antonio, plus numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, March 8th, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road. Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Stockdale Memorial Cemetery with ministers David Watson and Terry Starling officiating.
