Norma L. Stewart

She graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, TX; Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX; taught school 40 years; owned Kiddie Kollege Preschool in Castle Hills, TX; was a member of Louise Schuetze Lodge, Sons of Hermann and Kappa Kappa Iota, Alpha Lambda Chapter; and did volunteer missions in the Philippines, Mexico, and Republic of Czech.

She served as ATPE Region Director when the young organization was active in preventing the unionization of Texas Schools.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Southern Oaks Baptist Church of Tyler, TX.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Huey P. Stewart and their three children: Dr. Mack D. Stewart and wife, Sandy; Mark P. Stewart and wife, Jane; and daughter, Cheryl L. Stewart Foster. She leaves seven grandchildren: Dustin R. Stewart, Mark D. Stewart, Laura Lee Stewart, Holland P. Stewart, Andrew H. Stewart, Jack M. Stewart and Travis R. Dorsey. Other survivors include her Step-mother, Nannie Faye Shelton and nephews and families of S.D. Shelton and wife, Kathy; James Ray Shelton and wife, Susan; Louis Ray Shelton and wife, Karen; and niece, Linda E. Barnes and husband, Gary.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 20th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
