

Norma G. Vidal, age 70, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 21, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, to Rolando Gonzales and Ofelia Garcia, and was raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values that she carried with her throughout her life.
Norma was a woman of deep warmth, generosity, and strength. She had a vibrant personality and a kind heart that drew people to her. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping for little treasures, dancing to her favorite tunes, and relaxing with music that spoke to her soul. But above all, she loved being surrounded by her family. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a birthday celebration, or just an afternoon visit, Norma made every moment with her loved ones special.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her home was always open, her hugs always warm, and her advice always heartfelt. She was the glue that held her family together and a guiding light for many. Her faith, compassion, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Norma is reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Rolando Gonzales and Ofelia Garcia; her grandparents, Pete and Paulina Martinez; her cherished sister, Yolanda Escobedo; and her brother, Alvino Escobedo.
Norma's memory will forever live in the hearts of her six loving children: Debra Arriaga, Diana (Joseph) Columbus, Delia (Yogi) Sandoval, Yolanda (Adam) Gallegos, Leonard (April) Murguia, and Brenda (Theresa) Moreno. She also leaves behind her brother, Ruben Valdez, and her dear aunt, Christina Rodriguez.
Norma was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Jacob Gonzales Jr., Abigail Cortez, Edward Luna, Joshua Gonzales, Kameron Cantù, Savannah Gonzalez, Destiny Cuellar, Austin Gonzalez, Desire Sandoval, Envy Sandoval, and Eternity Sandoval. Her legacy continues through her 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Norma’s love knew no limits. She was a source of strength, comfort, and unconditional love. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and all who knew her, but her memory will be cherished forever.
A Visitation for Norma will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 AM for A Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church, 1619 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204 with Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
