Norval "Rabbit" Meurin

Norval “Rabbit” Meurin was born in Converse, TX to Carlos & Hilda (Gerth) Meurin on December 24, 1932 and passed away peacefully on September 4, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. He was a graduate of Brackenridge High School, and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an aircraft mechanic, working for Braniff Airlines, Lockheed Aircraft and Kelly AFB. Rabbit loved to work on cars and was the past president of the Corvair Car Club. He enjoyed going to the coast to fish. He was a regular patron of Sea Island and La Posada Del Rey restaurants. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Lee; and his uncle, Erwin Meurin. Surviving are his children, Donna Hopkins (Roger), Karen Mann-Warfield (Bob), Billy Meurin (Laura), Cheryl Jordan; grandchildren, Christopher Devlin (Rhonda), Josh Devlin (Kerstin), Amanda Henry (Matt), David-Craig Mann (Elise), Joey Mann, Sarah Meurin, Denise Aguilar (Jose); and 7 great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Bebe Rose; as well as lifelong friends and acquaintances. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
