

Obrad Marinkovich, age, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska to parents, Peter and Vlasta Marinkovich. Obrad entered the Army Air Corps at age 18. He chose to join the U.S. Air Force with the goal of becoming a fighter pilot, which he accomplished. He had over 30 years of military service. He loved his military life including flying and travel, but most of all he loved serving his country.
After retirement, he loved being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Obrad was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Vlasta Marinkovich; his wife, Virginia Marinkovich; brothers, Andrew Marinkovich and Steve Marinkovich and sister, Mildred Horton.
He is survived by his children: Sandra Rierson, Donna Shreve, Jacque Dillard and husband, Jeff; 7 grandchildren: Kristi, Karyn (Donald), Travis, Aaron (Jamie), Julie (Eric), Brett (Jenny) and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Cierra, D.J., Austin, Aiden, Brynn, Peyton and Reagan Jean.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
