

To the delight of her mother, Juana Manuela Rodriguez and her father, Major General Charles A. Willoughby, Tonie was born early on Christmas day 1925 in Caracas, Venezuela. Tonie attended Mount de Sales Catholic all-girls boarding school in Macon, Georgia, and later enrolled in nursing school in San Antonio, Texas.
An active volunteer, Tonie was a member of The Junior League, The Child Study Club, McAllen Museum of Art and she spent many hours as an avid Blue Bird. She was also the Small Business Owner of La Petite Maison, a jewelry store in McAllen, Texas.
Her hobbies included swimming, tennis, golf, bowling and Bridge; she was also known to take everyone's money in a game of Poker.
Tonie travelled extensively; she loved good food and a stiff Scotch Old Fashion. She was known for her big heart, endless forgiving spirit and penchant for bringing laughter to many a situation.
Tonie was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Lieutenant Colonel Eugene C. McKeever. She is survived by her children, Charles Buerschinger (Austin, Texas), Joseph S. McKeever (McAllen, Texas), Deborah Ann McKeever Watson (Orlando, Florida), Patricia Irene McKeever (San Antonio, Texas); and her grandchildren: Michele, Kerry, Brendon, Dane, Brent, Keatan, Kelly and Clinton.
Memorial service is Thursday, Aug. 2, 11am, Porter Loring Funeral Home (2102 North Loop 1604 East, 78242);Inurnment at Fort Sam Houston Cemetary, 1:30pm; Celebration of Mom following (approx. 2:30pm) at Fort Sam Golf Club (1050 Harry Wurzbach, 78209). Please join us, especially at the Celebration for food, drink and laughter.
