Olivia Fernandez Girela

Olivia Fernandez Girela, age 83, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Mrs. Girela was born on October 5, 1939 to Juan and Guadalupe Fernandez Sr.. Olivia will be remembered for her love of family and family gatherings. She loved music, dancing and especially dancing with her brother She also loved going on trips to the casinos with her family and sister. She was a very strong and fierce woman. She will be missed and loved for eternity.

Mrs. Girela is preceded in death by her beloved husband Roberto Girela Jr, her son Juan Gabriel Girela, parents Juan and Guadalupe Fernandez Sr, sister Joaquina R. Ortiz, brothers Herman Maldonado, Juan Fernandez Jr.

She is survived by her sons Manuel Ramirez, Richard Girela, her daughters Deena (Julian) Montes, Leticia (Gilbert Jr) Ramos, and Marisa Ann Girela, her brother Ernest (Raquel) Fernandez Sr., and her sister Guadalupe (Hesam) Mesbah.

Olivia had 3 grandsons, 8 granddaughters, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

There will be a Visitation for Olivia on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 beginning at 5:00 pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. On Thursday, September 7, 2023 our doors will open at 8:30am we will then go in procession for an 11:30 am Mass at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1214 Stonewall Street, San Antonio, Texas 78211, burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
