

Ray was born in McCaulley, TX on May 28, 1921.
He graduated from McMurry College in Abilene, TX, where he met his wife, Betty, and then served his country in World War II as a radio operator.
He was an avid Ham Radio operator all of his life and made friends around the world with his call of W5IWE.
Ray was the Controller for the Mail Order House of Montgomery Ward in Fort Worth, TX for many years and retired in 1986.
Upon retirement, Ray and Betty moved to Cedar Creek Lake in Trinidad, TX and recently moved to San Antonio last year.
Ray was an active member of the United Methodist Church and several Ham Radio Clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Hennington and his three daughters, Iris Dodge of Peachtree City, GA, Mary Hennington of Dallas, TX and Doris Pennington of San Antonio, TX; two sons-in-law, Allen Dodge and Thomas Pennington; and six grandchildren, Kimberly Pennington Jones, Melissa Kay Pennington, Jamie Beth Pennington, Brett Steere Dodge, Lynn Goddard Dodge, and Mary Amanda Pennington.
