

After she graduated salutatorian from Sidney Lanier High School, she pursued a higher education and graduated with honors from Our Lady of the Lake College in 1975 with a degree in education. Her studies included intensive course work at the Universite de Paris a la Sorbonne, where she received advanced credentials in French.
She began her career at Collier Elementary and Leal Middle School and continued as the French and Spanish teacher at Harlandale High School. Her teaching career spanned twenty-nine years, where she touched many lives in the Harlandale community.
Her sharp wit and fun loving personality will be missed by all those who love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Elodia Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Norberto W. Martinez, Jr.; daughter, Imelda Gema Martinez; sister, Irma Isaac and husband, Frank Isaac; brother, Reyes Martinez, Jr. and wife, Irene Martinez; nieces, Sonia Zulay Isaac, Magda Angelica Farias, and Amanda Norma Isaac; and best friend, Rosalia Zepeda.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road, San Antonio, TX 78228.
