Mrs. Martinez was one of the best teachers I have ever had. And when I think back to my High school years, one of the best times that come to mind are my two semesters of French class with you as my teacher,You are missed and will always be remembered Mrs. Martinez. Juan Rendon CO/2002

I am devastated by this loss. I just found out and I have often wondered about Mrs. Martinez. I am a former student and Student Council Member from Leal Middle School. My life got in the way and I didn't keep in touch although I tried a few times over the years to find her. She changed my life and I attribute a large portion of my success in life to Oralia. I will always love her and she will always be a large part of my life story. I would love to make contact with her family to express what I always wanted to - to Oralia. She was the best teacher I have ever had and she will be missed by my self and some other friends of mine who had her for class. Harlandale High School truly lost a great teacher when Madame Martinez passed on. No one will be able to replace her, and I mean that.

Ora, it has finally hit me that we won't be seeing you again, and I miss you already. Your voice, your smile, just your fun self will be missed terribly by myself, and my family. You were the greatest! We love and miss you now and always. Forever you will remain in our heart.

Ora, I will definitely miss being on a trip in your van. When we would be out to visit, I would already know we would definitely be taking the "loop". I will miss your 2-hour car trips to see the model homes, or just to take the "loop", which I guess seemed to be a short-cut to you? : 
Our thoughts and prayers will always be with your family, and extended family. You have left an empty space in their hearts that hopefully one day will fill with the wonderful memories and things you have done! What a terrible loss. But I know for sure that you are in such a glorious place. One can only imagine the peace you have found.

Ora, you were simply the best! You lived life to the fullest, and anyone who knew you should feel lucky and honored. You have left a little piece of you behind in everyone's life you touched. I miss you terribly, but myself, Martin, and the boys hold so many wonderful memories of you, and so many pictures that we will treasure forever! I miss your laugh, and your voice! The last time we spoke was when I called you at midnight telling you that your SPURS were officially out of the semi-finals!! You weren't very happy! I will miss coming out to visit you and finding that our whole bedroom was covered with Spurs memorabilia, along with a whole kitchen door covered with a life-like poster of a Spurs player! 
We love you very much, and will think of you often, and always. We will keep Norb & Mel in our prayers. I hope that our Father will give them strength and peace during the most difficult time in their lives!

I knew Oralia in high school and just recently learned of her passing. She was a warm loving and funny friend. I have many fond memories of her at Lanier. May God Bless you and comfort you in the death of Oralia--the wife, mom, sister, friend, and from what I heard from a colleague of her's at Harlandale ISD a great teacher.

You were such an awesome person. You supported me in everything, you accepted me into your circle of friends even though you and Josie hated me when you first saw me!!, I had a great time with you at school. You made fun our get togethers, girls night out and trips to the haunted house. I will miss you greatly, and I will miss teasing you. My condolesences to the family and to all who loved you. Enjoy your eternal life, you will be in my heart.

One of the most beautiful things about my aunt Ora is her abundant love for all of us and her sense of humor. What warms my heart the most is the amount of time she gave of herself. She always made time to go shopping. Sometimes she would take us to places that hadn?t even opened. Like the time she was so excited to take us to the new Wal-Mart ? When we got there they hadn?t even started construction on the building! She always made time to stop and eat a SNACKITO as she would say. We would try new restaurants and cuisine. At the Vietnamese restaurant she would order the chicken lemon grass. Then she would tell the waiter ?could you make it without the lemon grass and add a little something to make it hot and spicy!? She always made time to stay up on Christmas night to help us assemble the electronic gifts she?d buy us. Of course she would then stay up till 4:00 o?clock in the morning trying to beat the game and get the highest score. Sometimes she would let us play too! She always made time to help us out-especially when we were doing things we weren?t supposed to do. Like at one of the parties we had when our parents went out of town. We called Ora to invite her and she not only came but also brought chicken salad sandwiches so we could have food! 
No matter what you asked for or needed Ora was always there. She made time for her family, friends, and students. She truly lived a life of service to others. Te amo Orie, con todo mi alma!

I just wanted to say that she will be dearly missed not only as my french teacher but as a very close friend who i could talk to and trust. My sympathy goes out to there family because they lost something really special in their lives. I met Oralia while attending OLLU and graduated with her in 1975. I remember when she was preparing for her trip to Paris and during a class break, I accompanied her on a shopping trip as she purchased new luggage and a camera. After graduation, we would talk often during her courtship with Norbert and I was part of her wedding party. Following the birth of Imelda and my own children we saw each other a few times. It seemed like I always learned something new from Oralia--shopping, household, and travel tips--everytime I spoke to her. She was a very wise and creative person and will certainly be missed.

It is strange how life rolls on without sometimes taking notice of the special details that make it fulfilling. Ms. Martinez was definetely one of those details in life. She was extremely witty and had a good sense of humor. She was also very strong and unique. She had a way of making strong connections with her students which is why I'm greatly going to miss her. All I can hope for is that she will never be forgotten and I know for a fact that she will always live within me.

Mrs.Martinez was the best teacher I have had in so long she helped me so much through alot whether it had to do with school work or not. She is going to be missed grately by me and many others, I love Mrs.Martinez she was such a nice woman I will miss getting my daily hug from her.

Bonjour Mis Amis! That's what I would hear everyday when I would go into her classroom. I'd give her a hug so tight that she would yell and say, "Frank! Behave!" but deep down inside I know that she loved us very much, especially her seniors. She will always be remembered as the beautiful and witty french teacher to me. I loved her like a mother and so did many other students. Countless friends and numerous family members will miss her as she passes on to a better and safer place. I never had Mrs. Martinez for class but she was definitely a teacher. I remember sneaking from my spanish class to go talk with her and plan pranks on other teachers. She had a great sense of humor and a big heart. Although she never had me for class, she always treated me like she had known me all through high school. She was a wonderful lady and she will be truly missed. My heart goes out to the family. Mrs. Martinez and her family are in my prayers. She touched the lives of many students, including me and some of my close friends. She will not be forgotten, and will live forever in our hearts.

I also had the pleasure being with her while she guided us while I was in the Pep Squad. She was the one that pushed me to reach all of my goal in my studies and have also to achieve all of my goal. I remember when i first had mrs. martinez my sophomore year for french 1. she purposly sat me next to this guy who was so annoying to me. to make a long story short, me and jeffery are friends now and i had never known that she had done that,,,,,,, until recently my senior year, she told me and she just kept on laughing. i also remember whenever me and my friend frank would get really annoying to her she would threaten us with sufforcating hugs and wet kisses and would yell our names out with that demanding scream of hers. you can tell just by the hugs she gave to me that she was a very very loving person. i will miss mrs. martinez very much she was a good teacher to me. and i also feel very bad that i was never able to see her at the hospital. TO THE FAMILY: she's in a better place now and very happy im sure eatting that french spam stuff i think it was called patae? she would always say she liked to eat with her daughter. she talked very highly of her daughter.
