

Orlando R. (Del) D’Alessandro, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Del was born December 12, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY to Orlando and Catherine D’Alessandro and was the oldest of four children. During his earlier years, being in a military family, he was able to see a lot of the world. Del graduated high school from The American High School of Tehran, Iran in 1962 and attended the University of Maryland in Munich and Maryland.
Del served in the Army in Vietnam and worked at Hallmark Cards for more than 40 years. Del volunteered for the Hallmark United Way campaign and participated in their bowling and tennis teams. Besides tennis and bowling, Del enjoyed traveling and was an avid photographer. He had several of his pictures selected for Hallmark greeting cards. Del moved to San Antonio, Texas after his wife Jody passed away in 2020. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, playing bridge and poker, and was an avid gun collector.
Del is survived by his daughter Sandee Morgan & husband, Carl, daughter Carole D’Alessandro, stepson Brandon Harrison, stepson Jason Harrison & wife, Ashley, brother Vincent D’Alessandro, sister Linda D’Alessandro, brother Thomas D’Alessandro and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, May 22, 2023, with a luncheon to follow.
