With faith in the promise of the Resurrection, we announce that Oscar Ramon Lopez entered into eternal rest at the age of 71.
Oscar was born on August 26, 1954, in George West, Texas. He spent his early years farming throughout South Texas and New Mexico, building a strong foundation of hard work and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life.
He met the love of his life, Oralia Olivo Lopez, in Lamesa, Texas. In 1978 he briefly lived in Rule, where Oscar owned and operated a small gas station before later moving to Stamford, Texas. There, Oscar and Oralia raised their family on a small farm, instilling in their children the values of faith, family, and hard work. All of their children graduated from Stamford High School, a source of great pride for Oscar.
Oscar dedicated 20 years of service to the City of Stamford as a heavy equipment operator, earning the respect of his coworkers and community through his dependability, strong work ethic, and quiet dedication. In 2011, he relocated to San Antonio to help start a family business, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2023.
Throughout his life, Oscar was known for his generous heart, tireless work ethic, and wonderful sense of humor—there was truly never a dull moment when he was around. He found his greatest joy in his family, especially in gathering loved ones together, firing up the barbecue pit, and creating lasting memories during holidays and special occasions.
