

Born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico on October 13, 1925, he received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacinal Autnoma de Mxico in Mxico City, thereafter returning to Chihuahua for his social service in the high sierra.
He met his beloved wife Maria Elena while in internship at the Palmore Hospital in Chihuahua City, where she was attending nursing school. After moving to Cd. Juarez, marriage and the birth of six children followed. In Juarez he founded the Hospital Latino Americano and his private practice.
In 1964 he moved to El Paso and completed his residency at Thomason Hospital. His Obstetrics and Gynecology practice thrived over a span of 40 years. He delivered almost 50,000 babies at South El Paso Maternity Hospital (which he founded and later sold to National Medical Enterprises), Sierra Medical Center, Providence Memorial Hospital and Columbia West Hospital.
Dr. Lozano had a zest for life that permeated every facet of his life and an optimism that was contagious. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying his work, family and friends. Dr. Lozano leaves a legacy of strength of character, integrity, compassion and generosity that touched so many lives.
He was an exemplary son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who is greatly loved and missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Pedro Lozano, and is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maria Elena; their six children: Martha Goravanchi (Nader), Oscar Lozano, Jr., Hector Lozano (Suzanne), Leticia Kaufman (David), Ruth McChesney (Terrence), and Luis Lozano (Jeannie); eleven grandchildren: Maria Elena Goravanchi Millar (Alexander), Sonia Goravanchi Burgos (Raul), Tassjania Lozano, Patricia McChesney, Christine Lozano, Victoria Lozano, Lauren Lozano, Oscar Kaufman, Natassia Lozano, Angela Kaufman and Oscar Joaquin Lozano; his brothers Lionel Lozano, Elco Lozano (Graciela) and Carlos Lozano; and a numerous extended family.
