Oscar Mauro Rodriguez, Jr., 56, passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Brownsville, Texas on April 19, 1969, to Oscar Mauro Rodriguez, Sr. and Rosalinda Rendon de Rodriguez. He was the beloved husband of Maria for 31 years and was the devoted father of Isaac Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, and Francisco Rodriguez.
He was an alumna of Villa Maria High School in Brownsville, and a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. After a few years of teaching, he had an inspired career as a Lead Systems Engineer at Citrix. He was a passionate outdoorsman and athlete, with a great love for cycling, running, kayaking and hiking in national parks. He enjoyed traveling with family, and photographing the natural beauty he saw. He had an enduring love for music, and was a lifelong U2 fan.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Terese Rodriguez, nee McArdle; his three children; his sisters, Gabriela Duffey, Rocio Keils, and Nancy Pennartz; and his brother, Mauricio Rodriguez.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Avenue in San Antonio, Texas. Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
