Our precious mother, Otilia “Tillie” Albarran, went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2021 at the age of 73. She was a loving wife, grandmother, sibling, cousin and friend. She was born on July 8, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to Bonifacio and Guadalupe Martinez. She spent her early years in Pleasanton, and then spent the rest of her childhood and most of her adult life in San Antonio. She graduated from Burbank High School and met the love of her life, Armando Albarran, a year later. Together, they had 3 children, Adam, Angela, and Aimee and remained married for 52 years.
Tillie devoted her life to her husband and raising her children, and later helped to raise her grandchildren. Her family always came first, and as she raised her family, she showered her children and grandchildren with love, kindness and what seemed to be an unlimited amount of patience. She was a long-standing member of St. Matthew Catholic Church since 1969 and the legacy she left behind was to ensure that her children grew up to know and love the Lord.
Tillie was an avid reader, as she always had a new book by her side. She had an eye for interior design and loved to travel. Beach destinations were her most favorite destinations. She had an amazingly joyful disposition and a tendency to find laughter in any situation.
Tillie was preceded in death by her parents Bonifacio and Guadalupe Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Armando Albarran; her son Adam Albarran, daughters Angela Saunders and Aimee Brumfield and their spouses Michelle Albarran, Stuart Saunders and Landon Brumfield; her grandchildren Kaitlin and Alexandra Albarran, Darrell and Mia Saunders and baby Brumfield on the way. Her sisters Berta Palacios, Esther Vasquez (Roger), brother Andrew Martinez (Nita), brother-in-law Albert Albarran, sister-in-law Esther Ramirez and Carmen Gutierrez (Victor) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends she cherished.
Visitation is scheduled for 6:00pm on Thursday, August 12 at the NW Sunset Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd. Rosary will begin at 7:00pm. A church service will be held to honor her life on Friday, August 13 at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 1:30pm. Family and Friends wishing to honor Tillie can make a donation in her name to their Cancer charity of your choice.
