Otto Hugo Valentin Foerster, age 100, died on Sunday, February 3, 2002. Otto was born on July 26, 1901 to Otto and Carolina Borgfeld Foerster on a farm near Schumansville, in Guadalupe County. He married Eleonora Klenke on May 23, 1925 in Seguin, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He worked for Sweeney and Co. Wholesale Grocery Co for 50 years and retired in 1979. He was a devout member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in San Antonio. His wife, Eleonora; his three brothers, Fritz, Egan and Reno Foerster; and two sisters, Hulda Foerster and Helga Mueller preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and John Buchanan of Boerne; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Maggie Foerster of Los Gatos, CA; son, Donald Ray Foerster from Scottscale, AZ; two sisters, Katherine Zipp of Bay City, and Irma Ebensberger of San Antonio; and brother, Raymond Foerster of New Braunfels. Otto is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
