

Mr. Flores is preceded in death by his three siblings: Jose P. Flores, Julio P. Flores, Jr., and Minerva Lara. He is survived by his wife, Maria Flores and his three sisters: Esther Vergara, Maria Puga, and Jovita Munoz. He also leaves behind his four children: Pablo Flores, Mercedes Guzman, Isabel McCarty, Anita Metcalfe, and his wife’s three children: Arturo Morales, Nicholas Morales, and Jessica Scott. He also leaves behind thirty two grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren.
Pablo was born in Snook, TX in 1936 and grew up in San Benito, TX, the son of Julio G. Flores and Alcartia P. Flores. As a child, he learned the value of hard work from his father, working with him in the cotton fields of South Texas. As he grew older, he began to take an interest in law enforcement and serving his country in the military, and joined the Air Force as an MP.
Pablo is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two terms, and eventually retiring from the Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service. Still eager to serve his country, Pablo then joined the Department of Homeland Security, serving another 38 years and retiring in 2012.
A rosary will be held Thursday, July 14h, at 7pm, at Sunset Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday July 15th at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. A military ceremony will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
