Pablo Antonio Gonzalez, a dedicated father, husband, compadre and friend passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was the only son born to Alfonso and Irene Gonzalez, Jr. As a staunch advocate for his church, The Fellowship of San Antonio, he volunteered numerous hours sharing his smile, love and conversations with parishioners while driving the elderly to the chapel or working the food bank.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Grilling, indulging in a card game, playing poker or board games while surrounded by family & friends was his idea of heaven on earth. He was a wrestling fan and took great pleasure in wrestling with his sons. Although a fan of all sports, nothing compared to his steadfast loyalty to the Patriots.
Never shying away from hard work Pablo was a go-getter! When he set his mind to something there was no stopping him. As a child in 5th grade, he spotted a cute, dimpled, pig-tailed girl named, Diana. At that moment, he was determined to make her his wife. Fifteen years later he married her.
Pablo was a huge kid-at-heart. His fun-loving character brought joy to all children especially his sons, nieces and nephews. He was a quick-witted jokester and always the life of the party. His kindness, generosity, encouraging words and compassion are what made him so special. He was a diplomat who could always calm the seas and bring about peace and balance. He was a great example for his two sons by living his life grounded by grace, patience, forgiveness and zeal for life. He leaned on our Heavenly Father and demonstrated unshakable strength and perseverance through all of life's trials.
Pablo embarked on his professional career working as an IT Specialist Applications Developer for the Department of Treasury in Washington, DC and subsequently landed at Pearson Inc. working as a dedicated Program Technology Manager for over 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his niece Carolina Antonia Gonzalez and brother-in-law, Jerry Crosier.
Pablo is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diana Gonzalez; sons, Zachary Alfonso Gonzalez and Tytus Pablo Gonzalez; father-in-law and mother-in-law Alfonso & Esther Sanchez; sisters, Maria Herlinda Crosier, Sylvia Gallegos and husband Manuel, Monica Cucksey, Mary Quintero and husband Xavier; sister-in-law Sylvia Talley and husband Patrick; nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
