Born in Plainview, Texas, Pamela couldn't wait to make it to her favorite place to call home, Austin. There, she began her career as a hairstylist, traveling the country doing runway shows and working alongside industry leaders such as Jheri Redding. She later fulfilled her dream of opening her own salon in Austin, where she shared her talent and passion with countless clients, including Willie Nelson, Farrah Fawcett, and many others.
Pamela's greatest joy came from her children. Inspired by her favorite homemaker, Martha Stewart, she had a gift for making everyday moments feel special. Whether it was holiday traditions, celebrations, or gathering for her famous Academy Awards parties, Pamela created memories that will be cherished for generations. Her gift for motherhood extended well beyond her own children. She welcomed stepchildren, friends, and loved ones into her heart with the same fierce love and devotion, making countless people feel as though they belonged to her family.
Her children will remember and miss her incredible ability to bring comfort in times of need. She listened without judgment, offered support without hesitation, and somehow always left you feeling better, all with a Diet Coke by her side.
Pamela is survived by her daughters, Hayley Shannon and her husband, John Shannon, and Amy Grayson and her husband, Heath Grayson; her son, Colton Harwell; her stepson, Corey Harwell; her stepdaughter, DeAnn Harwell; and her grandchildren, Cole Shannon, Hope Shannon, and Emma Shannon.
She is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
