A fellow Alum just recently sent me this page, and I feel incredibly sad just learning of this much late news about the passing of Miss Cain.

I attended Notre Dame High School and was part of the graduating class of 92.

Miss Cain certainly holds such a special place in my heart. When I think about my high school years, and the teachers who had a lasting impact on my life, Miss Cain is certainly one of them. In fact, she was one of my very favorite teachers.

Miss Cain had a great sense of humor, was funny, extremely witty and taught with the utmost passion and conviction. Miss Cain knew how to make learning fun and she was always extremely compassionate in her own way. I can see some of the faces she would make with us young ladies and it brings the biggest smile to my face.

I will always feel incredibly blessed to have been a recipient of her teachings and will hold the memory of her close to me always.

To the Cain family –  I am incredibly sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing her with our Notre Dame family. May she rest in paradise and free from suffering.

Miss Cain – thank you for making my childhood years that much brighter. You are forever missed and never ever forgotten.

'Pat LOVED being with students. When she was made principal at Notre Dame, she created a class (study skills, I think) which gave her a chance to really shine with students who needed some extra TLC. She was firm and funny and I am grateful that I got to see her in action on a regular basis since the class met in "my" classroom -- I would often work quietly on the computer while she taught. I particularly recall her talking about a student named Liz -- Pat noted that she was not a stellar student, but that she WOULD succeed in life, noting her interpersonal and "sales" skills as she coordinated a class activity. A great role model and a great woman.'
