Patricia Jean Waska Carden, age 84 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. She was born on September 5, 1935 in St. Cloud, MN to Charles and Mildred Waska who preceded her in death. She met her husband of almost 53 years on a blind date in Houston, TX and they married on October 30, 1953. Patricia worked for the City of San Antonio for 25 years retiring in 1993. She loved to play bingo, go fishing and shopping with friends and family. While her children were in school at St. Thomas More and Providence High School, you could find her working the bingo cards or helping with the food at the festivals. During her and Bill’s retirement they were able to travel extensively seeing the sights and visiting with friends and family. She is survived by Her 3 children: Denise Lytle (Fred); Jay Carden and Pamela Arredondo (Alex); Her 7 grandchildren: John George (Jennifer); Amanda Boyce (Alan); US Navy Jason Finch; Victoria Grohman; Danielle Knappick (Justin); Hondo Arredondo and Jacob Arredondo; and 7 great grandchildren. Also, surviving her are her sisters: Carol McAshan and Marcia Traylor; Brother: Ronald Waska (Annie); Sister-in-laws: Frances Waska and Betty Holt and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 7pm Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with burial at Sunset Memorial Park.
