Patricia D. Crain was born on March 28, 1928, to Theon and Mildren Dillon Dohogne. She grew up in her grandparents’ home in Memphis, Tennessee. She had dogs, rabbits, ducks, and chickens. She went fishing with her Grandpa, played cowboys and Indians in the morning, and had tea parties for her dolls in the afternoon. She climbed every available tree in her neighborhood.
She attended St. Agnes Academy for 12 years and graduated in 1946. In 1949, she married William J. Crain, also a Memphian, who was a SFC in the 11th Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. When the Army released him from service in 1952, they began their nomadic pursuit of his business career. They lived in Clarksville, Tennessee; Montgomery, Alabama; Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Fort Worth, Texas; and Houston, Texas. In 1969, Bill Crain bought the Anheuser-Busch distributorship in San Antonio, Texas, and they found their “forever” home.
She leaves two sons, Glynn and Andrew; their wives, Suzanne and Rosemary; four granddaughters, Jennifer, Allison, Katherine, and Jaclyn; and one grandson, Jeffrey. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Luke, Evelyn, Jaime Jr., Andres, Juan, Katherine, Franciso, Sam, and Jason.
She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a member of the Alter Society and the Sultanas de Behar. She also belonged to the Antonian High School Mothers Club and the Castle Hills Women’s Club.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with a rosary to follow.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate Dr. San Antonio, Texas.
Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
