

Patricia Ana Garcia Escobedo, Director Senior Counsel at CPS Energy in San Antonio Texas, known for her devotion, creativity and competent advocacy, passed away at the age of 66 on Thursday, January 8, 2015. Pat was the first of five girls born to Maclovio and Idolina Garcia, on June 20, 1948 in Kingsville, Texas, who preceded her in death. She shared her love of cooking, culture and tradition with her entire family. Pat will always be loved and missed by her surviving family including her husband, Felipe Escobedo, Jr. of 25 years, their children; Omar Longoria (Gina), Pilar Longoria (Pete), Alicia Racanelli (John), Diana Wilson (Jim), Felipe Escobedo (Amber) and Tanya Doster (Jarod), grandchildren Bekah, Sophia, Alex, Sarah, Micaela, Parker, Cortez, Alana, Cole and Logan. Pat is also survived by her loving sisters, Cecilia Huerta (Candelario), Lamar Garcia (Mingo), Linda Escamilla (Roberto), Carola Serrato (Ben) and her nieces and nephews.
Pat began her career as a teacher after earning her degree at Texas A&I University, Kingsville, Texas. During her time at A&I, Pat served as Student Council South Texan Editor, a talent she developed from her experience as the Yearbook Editor at her alma mater, Henrietta M. King High School in Kingsville, Texas. As a teacher she served students at Sinton High School in Sinton, Texas and John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas. Her service to Texas Public Education included work as a Community Information Officer and continued as a State Policy Analyst for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in San Antonio Texas.
