Patricia Jean Fredricksen (née Ross), 89, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 4, 2025. She was born in Decatur, Illinois, on April 29, 1935, to James and Irene Ross. She was married to Fred John Fredricksen for 23 years and was blessed with a large loving family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and joy, and she often spoke of their accomplishments with immense affection.
Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a dedicated professional, and a woman of faith. She never knew a stranger.
Patricia's passion for learning was evident throughout her life. She pursued her intellectual curiosity with vigor, accumulating over 225 collegiate hours in fields ranging from Music, Science, and Pre-Med to Real Estate Law and Finance.
Patricia's career path was diverse, reflecting her outgoing personality. She excelled in various roles as the family construction company office manager, nursing technician, and real estate agent. Her abilities allowed her to be successful in selling Tupperware and Avon - where she quickly became Puerto Rico’s Island Regional Manager. Her success in real estate was particularly noteworthy, earning her membership in the Million Dollar Club (back in the day when a million dollars was saying something) and frequent recognition in local newspapers.
Patricia was deeply involved in her community throughout her life. She was an active member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and dedicated her time to volunteering at the Montgomery County Rehabilitation Center, was an active church volunteer, and a Bible study group member. She volunteered through her church, Wayside Chapel, helping fill children’s backpacks before each school year, assisted with the bereavement committee and the Sisters of Strength ministry, was involved in the OWL Sunday School group, Les Feldick Ministries, and was a long-time donor to the St Labre Indian School.
Above all, Patricia cherished her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family. She developed a deep, intimate relationship with Jesus in her late 70s which created a thirst for truth and a desire to know Him intimately by immersing herself in the Word and reading through the Bible with her Bible study group leader, Sue Huggler, first. Then with Les Feldick and then on her own. This understanding of the Word led her to become the Matriarch of her family that God intended for her life. She shared the Word of Jesus with her children and grandchildren with many talks, gifts of Bibles, and personal Bible studies. She spoke Truth to both family and friends who all knew that she would “tell it to you straight”. Her impact was far and wide.
Patricia is survived by:
