Obituary of Patricia Louise Hess
Patricia Louise Hess left us to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2022, Mother's Day from her home in San Antonio. Her departure is the end of a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. Her granddaughter-in-law reflected so perfectly “she is now free from the prison of her mind”. Patricia was born on November 17, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to Carl and Catherine Gravell and was the oldest of two children and a third-generation San Antonian. She was blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mother where she had and raised her four precious children, Jeffrey Dixon Murrah, Pamela Anne Jackson, Timothy Alan Murrah, and Damon Scot Murrah. After raising her children, Patricia went into the workforce. She worked as a secretary at S&B Engineering where she met her future husband-to be! After that she went to work for Marriott. It didn't take long before people knew who could be found in reservations every day - "The One Who Is Always There." She was so well-liked at Marriott that people would ask for her by name. Patricia became known far outside The Company's walls due mainly because they were so impressed by how dependable -- not just herself but especially through outperforming other Reservations Agents around the world. She worked there for over 15 years. Patricia was a social butterfly and loved getting to know new people. Her socializing was a gift that made her so accomplished at her work but also made her an amazing friend. Whether it was dinner parties, game nights, church socials, or meetings of the local civic club she was ready to meet new people and catch up with old friends. She just loved people and people loved her back, especially her family. Besides being a social butterfly she enjoyed shopping, and loved her time with her husband Bill, her cats, her kids, and coffee. Patricia leaves behind her loving husband, William H. Hess, her cat, Kymee, son Jeffrey Murrah and his wife Peggy, daughter Pamela Jackson and her husband Ted, son Timothy Murrah and his wife Tonya, and son Damon Murrah and his fiancée Karina Jones. Her three grandsons, Blake Murrah and wife Kali, Franklin Murrah, and William Murrah. She had also reached the ranks of great grandmother and leaves behind two great grand-daughters, Magnolia and Liberty Murrah. Along with her brother Carl Gravell and his wife Anna and numerous other family and friends, all will cherish the wonderful memories they made with her. She has now reunited with her father and mother Carl and Catherine Gravell.
