Patricia Pawkett Mann

Patricia attended St. Mary's Hall and graduated from Alamo Heights High School. She continued her education at Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, and at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi. Later in life, she returned to the classroom, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston, followed by a master's degree from the University of the Incarnate Word.

Patricia devoted more than twenty years to Northside ISD as a reading specialist, where she found great joy in helping children develop a lifelong love of learning. She was an active member of the McNay Art Museum, the Assistance League of San Antonio, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

From an early age, Patricia had a deep appreciation for music, art, and ballet—interests that remained with her throughout her life. She also had a passion for travel and embraced the opportunity to explore the world extensively after her retirement.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisabeth Kimberly Mann. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Karen Alston Sumner of Houston, Texas; her grandsons, George Wilson Sumner IV and Nicholas Rice Sumner; and her many cherished cousins in San Antonio.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Capers Chapel at Christ Episcopal Church.
