

Patricia Davison Palmer was born on February 1, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died January 9, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph "Woody" Palmer and her daughter, Sandra Berger. As a young girl, she lived in Europe, Indonesia and has travelled to many other countries.
Returning to the States, she attended The Ursaline Academy in New Rochelle, NY and then graduated high school from the Knox Boarding School in Cooperstown, NY. After graduating from Ward Belmont Junior College in Nashville, TN, she then attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH.
In the middle of her senior year, she was recruited by the Women's Hospital, Detroit, MI to train as a Medical Technician, as there was a shortage of them during World War II. She finished her training at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She received her diploma in 1945 and has been a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist ASCP ever since.
As a physician's wife, she joined the Medical Auxiliary of San Antonio. One of her more gratifying volunteer assignments was teaching sewing for a year at the Pine Street YWCA. She was also a volunteer docent at the San Antonio Zoo for 30 years. She truly enjoyed sharing the wonders and her awe of the animal world with children.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul Palmer of San Antonio, TX and Matthew Palmer of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sr. Margaret Rose Palmer, CCVI of San Antonio, TX and her 5 grandchildren, Jon Berger and his wife, Dalya Berger of Teaneck, NJ; Dr. Jeff Berger and his wife, Guprite Berger of Davidson, NC; John Palmer of San Juan Bautista, CA; Laura Palmer of Houston, TX and Russell Palmer of Houston, TX in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
She would also like to acknowledge special loved ones, including Nell Filip, Dorothy Doehne, Frank Walsh, Wayne Pledger, Kathy LaCour and Georgie McAteer.
