Patricia “Patsy” Evelyn Preis Beveridge was born on September 10, 1936 to Evelyn and Rex Preis. She was a fifth generation San Antonian growing up in Alamo Heights. From her earliest years, Patsy was marked by a deep curiosity about the world that led her to live a remarkable life.
Patsy had a worldly intellect and an adventurous heart, finding joy in traveling near and far. Along her journeys, she met many remarkable people and had friends all over the world, but she treasured most her time spent at home with her family and dear friends. Her six grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was a gifted writer of short stories and an avid reader. Her words reflected her creativity, wit, and keen humor of the world around her. Patsy was also a gourmet cook, a singer, a yoga enthusiast, a gardener, a movie buff, a political activist, and a historian. She was proud to be Irish and she was a terrible driver.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents Evelyn (Abby), and Rex Preis; and her two brothers Reagan Preis and Phil Preis.
She leaves behind her beloved children and grandchildren: Amy Brooke Beveridge and her children Taylor, his wife Meredith, and Ryan Kephart; Robert “Del” Beveridge, Jr. and wife Francesca and their son Beto Beveridge; and Bert “Tito” Beveridge II, his wife, Lori and their children Trevor, Lily and Kate Beveridge; as well as many adored nieces, nephews and cousins…who will carry forward her spirit of love and adventure.
A memorial service to celebrate Patsy’s life will take place on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 11 St. Luke’s Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78209.

Honorary pallbearers will be Patsy’s beloved care team: Nancy Nash, Heidi D’Amico, Gladis, Blanca, Rosie, MJ, Isabel, and Victoria to whom we will be forever grateful for their love, tenderness, and impressive care.
Patsy’s life was one of intellect, generosity, and fulfillment. She will always be remembered for the love she gave, the stories she shared, and the adventures she embraced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Patsy’s name to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF) (https://www.macular.org/).
