Born December 31, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Patricia Ann Johnson was the beloved daughter of James and Lavenia Johnson. She was the last survivor of her parents and her siblings: Ethel (Marion), James (Pete), Charles, Ramond, Randolph, and Robert.
Patricia's life was marked by remarkable generosity and an unwavering faith. She gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and extended grace with an open heart. A devoted member of St. John Baptist Church, she served faithfully as an active servant in her faith community. Her home was filled with the warmth of family gatherings and the aroma of her beloved southern cooking—a gift she shared freely with those she loved.
Patricia dedicated her life to service with the Veterans Administration, working at facilities in Allen Park, Michigan, and later at the Audie Murphy VA in San Antonio, touching countless lives through her compassionate care and commitment.
Twice widowed, Patricia was widowed first by Bennie Darden and later by Joseph Scott. She is survived by her sons Dennis (and his wife Cynthia) and Jason (and his wife Melissa), as well as her step-children Rita, Christine, and Kevin. She was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren: Chase, Analiese, Jopei, Jemini, and Joseph Scott. Her love extended beyond blood to four grandchildren in love: Dante and Donovan Davis, and Andre and Damian Sheppard.
A special gratitude is extended to Mary Ann Gunn, a dear friend whose priceless help and support were invaluable.
A memorial service celebrating Patricia's life will be held on Friday, August 21st at 6:00 PM at St. John Baptist Church, 6800 Evers Road. A repass will immediately follow at The Price Center.
