Patricia “Trish” Pennington Clegg died in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Trish was born in Houston, Texas on June 18, 1935. She was the daughter of Doris Gray Pennington and Thomas Pennington. Trish graduated from Lamar High School in Houston and attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. It was at UT where she met Marshall Terrell Clegg, her beloved husband of 70 years. They were married shortly after Marshall’s graduation from UT and spent the first two years of their marriage in Fort Eustis, Virginia while Marshall served in the United States Army. In 1956 Trish and Marshall returned to San Antonio, where they started a family and resided for the remainder of their lives.
Trish greatly enjoyed her community involvement, which included The Charity Ball Association, The Battle of Flowers Association, The San Antonio Junior League, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Club, Ladies of the Red Plume, The Timely Topics Club, San Antonio Country Club, and the Green Hand and Meadowood Garden Clubs.
Trish was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall, her parents, and her sister, Judith Pennington Latta. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Clegg Lowe and her husband, Jon; her daughter, Karen Clegg Mitchell; her grandson, Daniel Clegg Mitchell and his wife, Audrey; her granddaughter, Melissa Anne Mitchell; and her great grandson, Bennett Clegg Mitchell.
The immediate family held a private graveside service.
