In retirement General Sculley remained busy spending time working on his ranch, attending many of the grandkids events and other family gatherings. He continued his service to others on several Boards to include: President of the Fisher House Board at Lackland AFB, the Lighthouse for the Blind (now Vibrant Works), Chairman of the Board of the AMEDD Museum Foundation and President of the Order of Military Medical Merit. He was serving on the GPM Life Board at time of his passing.
While General Sculley had a very distinguished career he was most proud of his family; wife Peggy, whom he married in 1967; daughter, Patricia; and sons, Paul, Perry and Pete. He often remarked that Peggy was the perfect military spouse, able to turn twenty-five homes into a loving space for family and friends in quick order. From there the children thrived as proud, resilient military kids and became accomplished professionals, gaining wisely chosen spouses, John, Sharon, Beka and Tammy respectively. He has twelve grandchildren, Kirsten (spouse Brandon), Kyle, Brendan, Megan, Ellie, Kimberlee, Emma, Connor, Stephanie, Patrick, Valerie and Benjamin. Holidays and family events were full of Sculley family traditions and each one always “the Best Ever”! He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
With much gratitude the Sculley family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Osswald and the entire Oncology Staff at Brooke Army Medical Center for their expert care and compassion over the last 8 years.
